On a earlier post I posted an orange chicken dinner. I told you how to make the steamed veggies. But the orange chicken sauce was from a bottle. Well I came up with my own version from scratch and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. You can cook it in a pan or in the oven. Just make sure you add PLENTY of this yummy sauce for awesome flavor!
Orange Chicken
2 Oranges (fresh squeezed) concentrate would work too (about a 1/4th cup?)
3 1/2 T agave
1 c water
3 T soy sauce
1 T rice vinegar
3 T apple cider vinegar
2 T ketchup or tomato paste
2 1/2 T honey
1 1/2 T arrowroot powder
1 clove garlic
1/4 t red pepper flakes
1/2 T oil
2 T gf flour
Very easy to make. Add the oil to a sauce pan. Saute the garlic for a minute or two. Add the flour and stir around until well mixed. Add all the other ingredients except arrowroot and whisk. Slowly add the arrowroot flour and bring to a bubble. Reduce heat and whisk until thickened.

By the way, I have been trying more recipes with the other flours and they are wonderful. Very neutral flavored and taste close to the real thing! I also feel a lot fuller and less "sugar highed" from all the starches that rice flour brings. Boy I would have been missing out if I kept to the popular rice and tapioca blends!
