So once upon a time I was browsing Pinterest and came across this:
LOVELY sign- and I thought to myself, I can do that!
So I did.
Last night.
I already had a 24x30" piece of Masonite gessoed board lying around. (Because I'm an artist, and artists have stuff like that lying around.)
So I did.
Last night.
I already had a 24x30" piece of Masonite gessoed board lying around. (Because I'm an artist, and artists have stuff like that lying around.)
So I whipped out my pencil and basically eyeballed it. *Don't hate me.
You could even do the type on the computer and print, cut and trace it onto the board if you wanted.
Then I mixed up the colors I wanted. I made sure the words weren't too blue because my walls are more of a turquoise color. And bright red doesn't look good in my house so I added some blue to my red paint to darken and dumb down the red. Pretty!
I used black to darken the edges (using a baby wipe or damp rag) an streaked/smudged some areas on the board to give it that antiqued look.
Afterwords, I screwed in some "eye-screws" (honestly I don't remember what they're called to save my life) And added hanging wire on the back and made sure to tie it in double knots using pliers.
Honestly that was one of the quickest DIY projects I've done.
And it's PERFECT for my Christmas decor. I seriously had no idea what I was going hang above my couch.
